WHEN WAS DIGITAL TV INVENTED?

When and who invented plasma tv?

  • What i need,Date and who invented the plasma tv

  • Answer:

The system used in transmission was once devised by John Logie Baird. However, his 240-line mechanical system was soon supplanted by the 405-line electronic system invented by EMI and Marconi. It was this system that was employed by the first regular television service, begun in 1936 by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in London. The first of the experimental television broadcasts took place morning from 11 to 11.30. This series is being conducted by the Baird Television Company through the 2LO station, by arrangement with the B.B.C. The Baird Television studio in Long Acre was the origin of both the speech and the television signals, but, as only one wave-length was available, the speech and the television had to be radiated alternately. Test receivers were installed to receive both by wireless at Savoy Hill, at the Wireless Exhibition at Olympia, and at the Baird Laboratory. In the Savoy Hill installation only a small aerial was used, and the receiver consisted of a simple detector stage followed by various stages of low frequency amplification. The output of this receiver activated the televisor itself, which was one of the smaller models produced by the Baird Company. At first there was a slight technical hitch, a negative image instead of positive image being transmitted. This was soon set right, however, and fairly clear images were afterwards received. Various speakers, including Mr. William Graham, President of the Board of Trade, and Sir Ambrose Fleming, F.R.S., paid tribute to the pioneer work of Mr. Baird, and were afterwards televised. The ordinary listener, not equipped with a televisor, was able to receive the broadcast speeches, but during the television part of the transmission heard nothing but a rather raucous low-frequency howl of a pitch of about 300 cycles a second.

From a page entitled: History of Plasma Television. Quote: The very first prototype for a plasma display monitor was invented in July 1964 at the University of Illinois by professors Donald Bitzer and Gene Slottow, and then graduate student Robert Willson. However, it was not until after the advent of digital and other technologies that successful plasma televisions became possible. End of Quote.
