Problem connecting plasma tv to pc, i no picture on the screen?

  • Im trying to connect my philips plasma tv to my dell pc (its windows xp if that makes any difference). I bought a HDMI- VGA HD 15 cable as it was the only one that could fit into both my tv and pc. no other cable would fit. only problem is, is that even though its all conected up my tv has a blank screen!! no picture id going through. I tried changing th hz for the monitor but it still doesnt work! help please. i know it cant be the cable cos no other cable would fit thanks

    Make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphic card. If you do, you should be able to just connect both components and the settings will be automatically set for the TV. If you still don't get a picture, maybe the gfx card is not compatible or you have a faulty cable. Could be that the cable will not work with your gfx card. Also, those cables usually don't work from PC to TV. They are meant for Projectors usually.
