I need help hooking my PC up to my high def tv.

Why does my 22" LCD TV say 'Out Of Range' after the windows logo when connected to my PC? NEED HELP ASAP!?

  • I have a Luxor 22" TV that has a PC/VGA port. When I turn on my PC it displays the windows logo then goes blank and displays the 'out of range message'. I've been on safemode and changed the resolution but nothing happens when I restart. I also have the same problem with my Dell 19" PC screen! Someone help, I need this for my English essay! Would appreciate help ASAP!

  • Answer:

The PC is trying to use a scan rate or video format that the TV cannot support. If you start the PC & hit F8 as if you were going to start in safe mode, there is an entry in the startup menu something like 'Use VGA Mode'. That should start the PC with a standardised scan rate compatible with anything. Once you get booted up in that, you can try selecting other screen resolutions to get an optimum display.

Your TV cannot support the high resolution, setup first your computer to 800x600 or 1024x768 resolution.
