Lost picture on my samsung 50" plasma tv. HELP!?

while watching my 50" samsung plasma the other day, it suddenly looked as if a bucket of black paint was poured over the screen. The top of the screen turned black, and then the black color leaked down, eventually covering the whole screen and leaving me with no picture. Has anyone ever heard of this? Any idea what happened? Does this sound repairable? Both the Best Buy service plan people and the samsung warranty department have jerked me around a little, and I would like to be armed with more information. Super bowl in two weeks, making me slightly panic stricken. Thanks

Thats Samsung for ya. With samsung, the company has poor support for there products. More than likely the parts for your tv with either be on back order for about a month or two. I have done warranty work for Samsung and the only way to get the repair rolling was for the customer to make threats about suing them. Even when it gets repaired, more than likely it WILL happen again, and or other parts will crap out. Yes it sounds repair able as long as its under warranty, but with the Samsung parts being soo high and after the warranty some of the parts become NLA, customers get upset realizing that they bought a pos.
