Plasma tv vs. lcd vs. led.

Plasma vs. lcd led, I need a new tv but don't know which one?

  • I don't know which one to get any advice. I am stuck between a 60 inch plasma lg or a 55 inch toshiba lcd led both energy efficient. I need help. I know plasmas are better in dim light. But I wanna know which one is harder to fix if it gets broken. Which one last longer. And if you had to pick which one would you pick. No just because of size.

  • Answer:

I would choose the ugly step-sister of the television world: Plasma LCD televisions have 2 problems with 2 solutions: * Motion Blur - so you have to buy the "120 hz" models to reduce, but not eliminate this problem. * Poor black levels - so you have to buy the LED back-light versions If you have these 2 features on a higher-end LCD - you can approach the image quality of a generic Plasma TV. Plasma also has a wider angle of view than most LCD displays. THE PROBLEMS WITH PLASMA * They generate some heat and use a bit more power * The screens are glass and are highly reflective in rooms with lights & windows to the sides and rears Neither Plasma or LCD displays seem to win the 'more reliable' or the 'cheaper to repair' race. Bigger is always better so if the two televisions are name-brand, go with the bigger screen for the same price.
