I have an analogue sony tv. I also have a lg dvd recorder/ video cassette recorder.?

I had a hd digital terrestrial receiver bought as a present, i connected all up with av leads, when on not all digital stations could be found and i carnt record from recorder. where have i gone wrong.

You will need an external aerial (on the roof). You also need the RCA (AV) inputs on your TV, which I assume you have already. The RCA inputs are the digital "in" signals. If you have RCA outputs (on TV) then you might be able to record to the vcr but you won't be able to switch channels without switching away from the channel you want to record.
