What Is Television Fanatic Toolbar?

Can I connect an older TV to a Sky box? What kind of connection does a TV need at the back to be compatible?

  • I'm in the UK and have a Sky Plus box connected to a new, flat-screen TV in my sitting room. I'm considering taking out a Sky Multi-room package so that I can have TV in my bedroom as my kids are monopolising the downstairs television but I really don't want to go to the expense of buying another new TV if I can avoid it and don't see much point as I am not a TV fanatic. I have a basic non flat-screen television already (CRT?) which has a Scart lead. Is it possible to use this with a Sky box or will I need something with more modern connectors at the back? Thanks from a self-confessed technophobe.

  • Answer:

A Sky+ box should have a scart output. All TVs since 1991 have to have a scart socket by European Law so a scart lead between the two should get you going.
