Do all LCD TV's shadow?

Panasonic touts its Crt TVs with 100hertz but most Lcd TVs have only 50/60hertz?

  • Why? What is the diferrence between the 2 ratings? Should I choose 3lcd rear projection TV (bigger and more affordable) or lcd TVs (now available up to 40"). Samsung LA40R71B lcd costs MYR7800 and Sony Bravia V40A10 lcd MYR12000.Which do you recommend?

  • Answer:

The higher the hertz, the clearer and better image it will produce... but ONLY if it's a still image! Comparing 50Hz and 100Hz on a soccer match, the 50Hz Tv will definitely looks better than the 100Hz tv. However on a still screen the 100Hz will be much better than the 50Hz. Personally I prefer 50Hz over the 100Hz... That's why plasma/lcd doesn't really consider changing 50Hz to 100Hz as it doesn't really means it will be better. =)

It refers to the refresh rate. The faster the refresh rate, the sharper and cleaner the picture is. Direct-view LCD TVs are available in sizes up to 46" currently. The Sony KDL-46S2000 is a prime example. Samsung also makes at least one model that size as well. The Sony Bravias are overall capable of producing the finest picture of the models mentioned. Spend a little more and get a better model.
