Samsung DLP help?

What is wrong with my TV? 2006 Samsung DLP help please?

  • The picture on my TV started freezing, and then after a couple seconds then sound would go out and the TV would go black. I finally replaced the lamp and it seemed to help initially but after a couple days it started doing the same thing all over again, then wouldn't even turn on. I tried manually pushing on the sensor switch (don't know what it is officially called) that registers whether then case for the lamp is on or not and was able to get the TV on but then it started freezing and going black again. Does anyone have any idea what is wrong? Thank you!

  • Answer:

It could be a couple different things. First...try hooking up whatever source that it is freezing on(cable TV, DVD, etc) with a different cable. If that doesn't work, then i'm afraid that the problem is most likely the video board, digital board or both! If the TV is still under warranty, it shouldn't be too much trouble to get fixed. Just call up Samsung. However, if it's not under warranty, you may have to eat the cost of repair which won't be cheap! In which case you're better off getting a new TV! However, if you're lucky and persistent, i have heard of people getting their TV's replaced by Samsung for free...even out-of-warranty! But i wouldn't hold my breath on that! Good luck! Hope it's an easy fix!
