How do I record a tv show using a vcr and blank tape?

  • I want to record a show on satalite, so I have a cable box, what do I do, it starts in an hour! I have a blank tape, a vcr, a tv, and a cable box, what do I do!? I tried going to the channel, putting in the tape and pressing record. I stopped it 2 minutes later, rewineded (pressed rewind) the tape, watched it for like 10 minutes and nothing came...Help!

    if you have cable going to the vcr and out to the tv, set the channel on the vcr and record, if it's rca wires (yellow,red,white), you have to use the corresponding input/auxilliary button on the vcr remote, then set the channel on the cable box...wish I was there to see the setup...

This is a very easy answer. Get Tivo! Problem solved. It worked for me.

Does your vcr have a manual? This is so oldschool! lol Call your parents. I bet they know. I could probably get it to work, but I'd have to be there to dink with the plugs and stuff. I have no idea what kind of system you are using, and how you have it set up. Don't give up. If all else fails, hit it with a bat.
