What does Auto-Sap mean on tv audio?

If a tv has the red, blue, and green plugs (component) does that mean that it is an HD tv?

  • I found a tv on craigslist that this guy is selling. He is selling it at an unbelievable price, but I am only interested in an HD tv, and he does not know if it is. All that I know is it has the red,blue, and green plug-ins(I think they are called component plugs). If the tv has those plugs, does that mean that it is in fact an HDTV?

Agree with Mr. 9121 up there. Component connection is merely an interface (analog btw) and doesn't necessarily mean it's an HDTV. If it had a HDMI connection, on the other hand, you could probably safely say it's an HDTV of at least 720p capability since I don't know of any non-HDTVs with HDMI ports. I'm also going to echo the advice to lookup the model number but I suspect that it's not HD. If it were, the seller would most likely know. Hopefully he isn't trying to take advantage of your lack of knowledge in this area. Best of luck.

Yes, doesn't mean it will be great, I look for contrasts in which plasma's and LED's are far better, I look for response times, also refresh rates of TV's, so if it's cheap it may perform cheap.

It means that the set is designed to receive a digital video input, which could be HD. Google the set's model number and look for a display spec that's at least 720p. If it isn't, then no HD.
