Why do older tv's get fewer channels?
-
I have Charter cable tv and all my tv's get a different number of channels. The living room tv with the cable box gets all the channels, the tv in my room (which is a few years old) gets about 70 and the tv in my parents room (which is at least like 15 years old) gets somewhere around 40. Why do they get a different number of channels and what can I do to get more channels on my tv?

If the limit 36 on the other TV? If so, it could be built sometime before 1990, where what TVs could or had to tune in cable mode, was that. It could also be that the tuner or power supply is faulty, so is unable to tune extended cable. The fix, simply, is to get a a cable box for that TV.
