What is the disdvantage of buying and HDTV monitor when you use digital cable and do not need the tv tuner.?

are there advantages or disdvantages to buying a monitor that is not an hdtv tuner - 1080i vs 1080p ???

You may need a tuner later, and it will cost more then and not be built in. ~ If you haven't bought the HDTV yet, check out the new LED backlit DLP TVs - 1080p. Also, when you want to sell it in the future, it'll be much tougher without a tuner.

Most HDTV's are built without a tuner because the vast majority of people will use either satellite or cable. I live in a city were there are only 4 or 5 HD channels. If you live someplace like NY or LA were you can get many channels over the air go for the built in tuner.
