Can I hook up my old VCR to my new flat screen?

Trying to get cable to my tv through my Vcr.?

  • I recently unhooked my vcr and tv( we get the cable through the vcr tuner) because we got a new entertainment center. When I went to hook it all back up and I put all the connections together, I get a blue screen where I can even change the channel. It is on the correct imput and the connections are tight. I can't even change the channel on the vcr. I use the coaxil to the ANT IN and to the tv I use componit cable. Can some one plese help!

  • Answer:

If you can see the screens and menus from the VCR, then that part is working. Check that the VCR is set to cable tuning and scan for channels. You do have basic analog cable, right? I don't know of an old school VCR that had a digital tuner.

it seems your tv is old type so it has only antenna jack...........you need an rf modulator. if you want to watch regular tv channels.......you need a digital tuner and roof antenna. if you have a cable box... connect digital tuner or cable box to rf modulator....... coaxial cable>>.digital tuner or cable box>>>rf modulator>>>tv antenna jack. write more if i have a mistake.
