Should I get an LCD or LED tv?

  • im planning to get a fairly small hd tv for my bedroom. im looking somewhere in the 23-26 inch range, and im thinking of getting either vizio or samsung. What is the difference between LCD and LED? and which is better?

    At the size you are looking at, there is only an LCD available. Stay away from Vizio, it is a cheap brand that will not last. It is made in China with cheap parts. Panasonic, Samsung and Toshiba are you best brands to select from. Hope this will help you out.

LED by far has better contrast and is worth a little extra if you have it to spend

I just bought a 36" Vizio LED Eco Series a couple months ago. Couldn't be happier. Costco had a nice deal on them I paid $520 for mine.

they are basically the same. except led will be lighter and thinner and have slightly better picture quality. and manufacturers reckon led use 40% less energy. you say you are getting it for your room so i assume you will be using it for gaming dvd etc. led are better than lcd for gaming definately people will give you different opinions on different sets. if you have a sharp eye you will notice the difference in quality. but some people dont see the difference. my missus and kids (except my son) dont notice the difference and neither does my brother or some of my friends but my other brother and some other friends do.
