Sony Bravia LCD tv no sound?

How can i connect my sony bravia lcd tv model klv26 to my compaq presario cq 10 to get picture n sound both?

  The way to connect to your screen is via VGA and audio out on your compaq, to VGA and audio in, on your screen. You will require 1 x VGA to VGA lead, whatever length required. (VGA= Video Graphics Array). The connector ends are usually blue, and is 15 pin. You will probably need a' male to male' lead, check your hardware first. If the pc and screen ends have 'holes'in, then a male is required, if you cn see 15 x pins, a female is required. This lead will carry the picture. You will also need a 3.5mm stereo jack to 3.5mm stereo jack lead. This is for your audio, one end goes in the headphones socket of your pc, the other in the VGA audio input in your screen. Use your manual to make sure you locate the correct inputs. Once plugged in, you will need to change the settings on your pc, if you are running windows 7, go to My Computer, Connect to a Projector, then Clone monitor. You may need to change your resolution slightly also, if you know your way around your pc, this wont be an issue for you. Change your screen input to PC, make sure you have your audio input on the screen set to PC audio, and you should be up and running. A better way would be HDMI, however you dont have an HDMI output on your compaq, but bear in mind if you want to connect up a mac, or blu ray player, you can then run audio over HDMI also. Essentially this is just 2 x leads, a couple of setting changes on your compaq, and select the correct input on your Sony using the remote control.
