Do you need an aerial to get freeview?

Do you need a working areal (i.e. from the wall) in order to get a freeview box?

  • I have an areal port and wore in my room, bu the signal is pretty crap- does this need to work well in order to hook up a freeview box? Thanks! Jillian

if you go to the free-view website below and enter your post code it will tell you if free-view is available in your area .also even if your area does get free-view u may need to get someone to change your out door aerial or u can try an in door digital aerial

Freeview boxes can work quite well even with a bad signal. Try it and see. If that doesn't work, an amplified set-top aerial should do the trick.

first of all are you able to receive digital signal in your area ? are you running an indoor aerial ? assume you can get digital signal in your area, you will need a working aerial in order to receive any signal form a free view box. if you are getting a poor TV signal to start with then you need to get your aerial checked by a firm, in case it needs replacing. however there some checks you can do your self easily make sure the aerial plug is in the TV socket and the plug that fits onto the coax callable is fitted correctly. if these are fine then you may have a problem firm up the line
