What TV is best for gaming. (read description)?
-
I know a lot about TV's and I am doing research on which TV I should get. I am a gamer and have been playing on an SD TV for the past 3 years. I am trying to decide a couple of things. I REALLY DON'T WANT TO MAKE A MISTAKE IN BUYING A TV, ANSWER THIS ONLY IF YOU KNOW WTF YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT PLEASE 1. Is response time really that important? I mean, If I use My xbox on 5 ms response time TV is it at all a disadvantage compared to a 2ms response Time TV? does my Xbox even send The signal to change the Pixels that fast? 2. Is Hz really that important? A 120 hz tv is always 100 dollars more than the same tv with 60 hz. I hear the Xbox doesn't even output 60 hz and a 120 hz TV would make the image look wierd. But Maybe in the future the xbox 720 will output 120 hz so this is a hard decision for me. 3. 26" or 32" Is 32 too big for gaming? will it give me a disadvantage over 26" TV's? Or maybe 23" would be best? 4. For sure it will be 1080p, not 720. 5. Is a samsung worth the price difference in say a dynex or lg or toshiba? No matter what I will get a well known brand, But samsung's the ****, from what I've heard. PLEASE HELP, ONLY ANSWER IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!!! <3

Answer:
1: yes response time is massively important and you want to get it as low as possible, from what i understand the response times stack, so it's lets say 2-3ms for the Xbox and THEN the 1-5 for the TV, don't ask me how this one works it just does. 2: the human eye only see's stuff at around 30-33 fps so take that into consideration. 3: i would go with a 32" but mostly for movies, for playing games if the TV is a bit to big just sit back an extra foot or so. 4: the Xbox 360 only ever really outputs at around 540p, if you look at a game case the game will be able to output 1080p but the console itself will only ever hit 540p, i would go with a 720 because it would probably be cheaper, you won't notice the the inferior pixel count unless you spare in the same spot for an hour and it can help with response time. 5: i would go with something from Sony or Sharp, Sony makes good stuff and some vary simple TV's and same goes for Sharp, lots of Sharp TV's in reality have much lower response times and require less power then higher end and more expensive TV's like Samsung due to them having less useless crap packed into them. hope this helps.
