Why won't my TV get all the channels any more?

New place with Hd tv; why can't I get local channels?

  • I just moved in and I have a Sony Bravia hd tv. We dont have a cable package but I want to get the 4 local channels. I plugged the coax cable into the cable outlet in the wall but I'm not getting any signal. Again I'm not trying to get cable, I'm just trying to get the local tv channels. This process worked for me at my old place to get local channels but it's not working here.

Don't bother plugging into the cable, as you don't have cable and you won't get an over-the-air digital signal. Go to the Home screen on your TV, in the Setting menu, and have it search for over the air digital broadcast channels. That should do the trick for you.
