How do you connect Sony TV to PC?

How do i connect my PC to my Sony Bravia TV?

  • i tried using the 15pin VGA connector but it says "source not found".. my resolution is already at 1024x768.. i have an nvidia Geforce5500 vcard.. it should be enough right? what am i doing wrong?

1. Is your TV set to look at the VGA input? 2. Are you coming out of the VGA connector you normally use on the computer to go to your monitor, or a second one on your video card. 3. If you are using the second VGA connector, you have to set-up your video card settings. You can right click on an empty portion of your desktop, then left click on properties and select settings. Different video cards have different menus. Generally you can select clone (the second connector outputs the same desktop as the first), extend (the desktop becomes split between the two displays) and a setting which allows the two monitors to work independantly. In that mode you can drag an application from the main desktop to the second desktop. 4. If you only have one connector, make sure you are not set to anything else besides 60 Hz.
