Who makes lcd screens for sony?

I'm about to buy a new tv either the sony KDL40W4000 lcd or a Panasonic th-42pz80b plasma?

  • I am stuck between these 2 one is lcd the other plasma i have read so much about them it makes my head ache. Is the Sony the best or does the Panasonic beat it hands down

    GET the SONY.... Save the environment...GET the SONY. The Plasma TV consumes power...the SONY does not. Plus it's lighter, and it's a SONY Panasonics are tough too...and thet Plasma is one of their best TV sets...but GET THE SONY And make sure your friends and family do not throw things at the TV set and damage the LCD panel. Secure it to the wall too... OR Buy 1/4 inch thick plexiglas and Velcro it around the LCD PANEL... Don't want to see your new investment get abused by others...

Sony makes the screens better than all the rest. Just make sure that for either TV you have a long protection cover and just like with any electronic devices, luck plays a good part in how long it lasts. All in all, Sony has the best picture but depends what kind of a refresh rate you have on the TV, per line or per Pixel, I would take the per Pixel TV as the quality beats the per line hands and feet down :-) Hope this helps

Sony - their Bravia 2 engine is far better than the original. The other thing to consider is that Plasma is on its way out technology wise and they eat huge amounts of electricity (around 500W).
