Is there something wrong with my TV?

Need help with my Sony TV. something is wrong....?

  • when i got from work my tv didnt turn on with the controller. so i turned it on manually. turns out the buttons are all wrong. like volume changes channels, change channels changes to video, the tv video button changes the volume...the buttons arent doing the right action. is there something or button i can push to reset everything. or how can i fix it?

    Hopefully you don't one one of those fancy remotes where it has an extra battery to keep all the settings in it. Remove the batteries for about 5 minutes from the remote and put them back in.

Turn the TV off at the mains for 30 mins, then turn it back on. Should work.

you can fix it by taking it to a service center. Unless you have the experience, time, tools, good lightning, cap dischargers, then I would get it done by a pro. If there are smokers in the house, the smoke residue can cause the buttons to go bad. And that might be what you are experiencing, or some people have cleaned the screens and the fluid had leaked onto the board where the buttons are.
