Is it my remote or set-top box?

Will my US TV Sony Bravia KDL40V2500 work in Europe with HDMI settop box (it is dual voltage) ?

I have connected through HDMI my US TV Sony Bravia KDL40V2500 to Orange box (satellite) and there is no clear pictures (just color bars) but sounds is there. Am I doing something wrong?
Answer:

1- there is no problem on power.........tv and box work...100 to 240 volts. 2- digital system in usa ATSC in europe DVB-T. 3-color system in usa..NTSC....in europe PAL.......france..SECAM with posotive mod. 4-sound tv in usa M (4.5mhz) ....in europe B,G (5.5 mhz).....in uk I (6mhz) a qualified repairman can change it from american to european .
