I have a Vizio 26" Widescreen LCD HDTV and I can't it's sound to go through my home theater system. My system has a tv output jack but I don't know where to plug in the other end of the cables on my tv. I've tried a lot of places on it but I can't get it to work.

It sounds to me like you need to hook up an audio cable ( a red & a white connector on each end) from audio-out on the cable box to the audio-in on the surround sound receiver.
