Need to connect laptop to TV using VGA and HDMI?

  • I have a samsung laptop with only a VGA USB ports. Have just bought a Samsung TV HD ready that has only HDMI, USB and scart ports. I have a male to male VGA but theres no port for that on the tv. Can it be connected somehow?

    DO NOT waste your money on a VGA-HDMI cable. They can not work unless you also buy a converter card, which is expensive and not possible to install into a laptop anyway. Buy the converter box sold by Amazon that kahlili mentioned. Note that you will not get High Definition pictures because the quality is limited by the "low end" link in the chain. VGA cannot support HD. When you order the box make sure that you also order the right cables to go with it.
