Connecting a new dvd player to TV?

DVD player not connecting to new Freeview tv?

  • Hello wonder if you all can help. i posted a question sometime about my new tv and problems with signal/aerial and not being able to get good reception on Freeview. Well i bought a new aerial and hooray i have Freeview tv and good reception on all channels. Now the problem is for some reason I can't get my DVD player to work on my tv :s I had no problems last week when it was working with the tv but for some reason now when i turn the dvd player on the start up screen doesn't show up instead im getting no signal written on my tv....surely i don't need signal to work my tv!!! My DVD player is hooked up to my tv with a scart lead and both are connected correctly. What do i do? do i have to retune my tv all over again? Any other ideas/suggestions are very welcome Thanks Oh PS its an LG tv

  • Answer:

You need to select the Scart AV input from the DVD. The DVD won't tune in with the Freeview channels. The AV button on the remote will be marked AV or Source. On some TVs it is possible to allocate a channel number to an individual AV input so you could have the DVD on channel 99 for example.
