How does RF modulator work?

Anyone know how to get a RF modulator to work? It is the device used to allow old TV's to use dvd players.

  • We have a 20+ yr old TV (RCA) and I can't seem to get this Rf modulator to work properly. It is hooked up to our APEX dvd player correctly but when the device is switched on it just shows "snow". No dvd screen or anything. We are saving up for a new TV, so I am trying to make the best of this one. Any advice would be appreciated.

  • Answer:

it's easy hook the cable from outside to the IN on the back of the modulator, then connect another cable from the OUT to the IN on your tv or cable box, then hook up your dvd player the proper way all color coded, on the back of the modulator there should be a switch that say 3 or 4, your tv has to be on channel 3 or 4 for it to work! good luck
