Can i program my rca universal remote to work for my comcast cable box?

i lost my actual comcast remote which leaves me unable to use the cable....i have a rca universal remote can i program it to the comcast cable box and my sanyo tv??!! pleaseee helllppp!!!

There are three kinds of universal remotes. 1) The kind that require a device code in order to program. If that's yours you need to look up the code for your TV and cable box and see f the remote works. The TV will be easy enough to find, but your cable box may not be. 2) The kind programmed by the original remote. You can tell these because they'll usually have a smaller IR receiver. If that's your's you won't have much luck without the original remote, unless it can also accept device codes. 3) The kind programmed via a PC. If that's your's you have to check via the remote software to see if it support your devices.
