No, you will not. But, if you decide to drop cable, and just receive digital tv over the air, you will need the converter box. If you think you might do this in the future, you might want to send away for the $40 coupons. They will only be offering them for a short time, and when the current funds run out, and they reauthorize some more funds, those with pay tv will not qualify. You can get the cheap boxes for only an additional $10. They don't have the nicer features, but they will work when you have nothing else.
