What is the cheapest cable?

What's the cheapest way to get HD cable channels with Comcast?

  • I'm currently subscribed to the Basic Cable service (very cheap, about $10/month). We get all of the regular cable channels, along with the local channels in HD, which is great! I was hoping that I could upgrade to the HDTV package on the site for another $8.99 a month and get more of the listed HD channels like ESPN HD. (I really don't need the digital cable browser and such, just looking for the channels.) I'm curious if anyone has had success with this, or if I should stick with my basic HD local channels.

Why don't you call them and ask them and see what they tell you and go from there...

Comcast really sticks it to you when you jump to the next tier of service. I have Limited Basic ($15 here) like you, and the next step up is $60. HD service is even more, about $75 I think. Unless you REALLY want ESPN HD and are willing to pay for it, I'd stick with what you have - it's a good deal.
