Answer:
Go into the menu > Go to the audio section > go to closed captioning > set it to OFF. The menu access is by pushing the " Wega Gate" button, then the up or down arrow right near it until you see the icon for sound, press the round button in the middle, find closed captioning with the up-down arrow until you find off, push that, then push Wega Gate again, and that setting should stay there. I have a Grand Wega 42" HDTV LCD.

go into the menu or wega gate. and find closed caption. in the menus you may have to hunt for it but it is there. and turn it off. there may be a button on the remote that says cc for closed caption or just caption
