Sharp 40 in LCD tv. Standard refresh rate vs frame refresh rate?

  • I am looking to purchase a 40 in tv and there is a deal going on with a 40 LCD Sharp tv (Product number LC-40D68UT). It's 1080p but the question emerges as is it 60hz or 120hz? I have looked several places and called the sharp corporation but I still don't know the answer. As stated in the topic it says it has a 60hz standard refresh rate but a 120hz frame refresh rate. What's the difference between standard refresh and frame refresh? Any input would help http://www.overstock.com/Electronics/Sharp-AQUOS-LC-40D68UT-40-inch-1080p-LCD-HDTV/5511931/product.html#none listed under technical specifications

  • Answer:

If you want a great picture, Two things to look for when your shopping around, check to see if its a 1080p, if its a 720p the picture will not be at its best, next make sure the TV has a Refresh Rate: 120Hz, if the Refresh Rate 50 to 60Hz your picture will not be Crisp Clear, many of the stores out there are offering Big Sales on TVs in the $299 or $349 for that price its a sure bet your Refresh Rate will be 50 to 60Hz, If your looking on line at TVs and it does Not say what the Refresh Rate Is, Its more than likely going to be 50 to 60Hz
