Why does the sound keep cutting out on my new digital tv?

Why is the sound cutting out on my TV?

  • The sound cuts out for a second or two every 30 seconds - a minute. could this be the TV or the cable service? The TV is 2 weeks old and until now there have been no problems so I am wondering if there could be a problem with it or more likely the cable.

  • Answer:

This is a common complaint. It is your tv. This is how they die. You have to call the warranty people today. They are backlogged 2 weeks. Read more at www.HOMETHEATERSPOT.com and www.AVSFORUM.com and www.HDGURU.com..

If the sound is working fine on the Wii, your problem it is most likely not the TV. I'm going to guess that you are using the HDMI hookup with a cable box or that this happens on digital signals. Try to unplug both units, wait a minute, then plug back in. If this doesn't resolve the problem contact either the manufacture or a local service center for any software upgrades for your set. Digital hookups require software, and as we have learned from computers, we must always upgrade our software. Try using component cables. If it works fine, your problem is definitely a software issue.
