What is the best Sony 1080p T.V?

How do LG's 1080p LCD TV's (42/47LB2DE) compare in picture quality to other 1080p LCD TV's like Sony X series?

  • The LGs are cheaper but have an inbuilt PVR as well as HD tuner so im thinking they must have some drawback compared to others? I know the Sony X series sets a wonderful ( more expensive) benchmark.

    You have to go to the store and look. For the kind of money you are planning to spend, they should demo few TVs for you to look at. Make sure the TVs have similar settings (let.s say MOVIES or STANDARD), and backlight is set to the minimum for the best black level details. Also make sure to compare LCD to plasma.
