Why can't I get tv back to normal?

Why cant i get my tv to play...tv?

Im in a dorm with cable in every room and i connect the cable to my tv plug it in and..no channles, no matter what channle or line in a put it to its a aveis tv..whats up

Check the input selection on the tv to cable and let the tv program all the channels. Make sure that it is cable tv instead of just an antenna for the tv. If it is an antenna, you have to select antenna on the tv and let it program the channels. How old is your tv, is it a digital tv? If your tv is not digital and the signal on the cable is digital you'll need a converter box. Hope this will help you out.
