Can you help me with the Direct TV settings?

Need help to set up my TV picture settings!?

  • Hey guys I'm usually very good at electronics and setting up TV's, however I cant seem to get good settings on my TV. Now I have a Sony Bravia KDL-32BX300, but I guess you can relate the settings to any other Sony Bravia KDL series My settings are: Picture Mode- Vivid Backlight- max Contrast- 81 Brightness-40 Colour-68 Sharpness-65 Colour temperature- Cool Objects seem to look very rough and distorted around their outsides, and motion seems to be very blurry. I'm trying to get some fresh colours and picture settings on my TV, but there are areas where things seem very blurry and rough. Can anybody give me advice on how to give my TV fresh, modern colours, because I can't seem to find anything online that helps. Thanks a lot guys!

    Are you using an HD cable or Sat. box with an HDMI cable? If so, you'd still want to take the backlight down to 50 and move up slowly from there, and go down one setting from Vivid. Both of those settings are too high. Otherwise, if you aren't using an HD signal you can't get the pic clear and clean looking, SD signals will look bad.
