Why will the volume on my Sony TV not increase?

I have a 7 year old 21" Sony Trinitron tv and it is now buzzing when I increase the volume. Is it fixable?

    IF in low volume lever , sound okay, and only happened in Mid volume,should be the Speaker is out ( speaker cone is damage ) ! easy to get the same size of speaker , any brand will do. Option is plug in another speaker ( those small speaker use for PC ) from Head phone socket or use RCA sound out put connect to other Amp * if you TV with Head phone out put or RCA out * than you don't have to open the cover and DIY, REMOVE AC code totally from wall socket before open the back cover .not only switch off !

You may have the volume control up on your cable box (look at menu) and your television. It may create this buzz. However, if this just started, then it may be a problem that a professional needs to look at. I would consider a new television.
