What do I need to get the basic channels on my TV?

I have sky tv but cannot get German channels what extra equipment would I need?

  • I was informed by Sky that I could but obviously this is sales pitch (misleading) I have been told that I would have to get another dish and box but I really do not know what to believe. Can someone please HELP .

  • Answer:

You need a set-up aimed at Astra @19 degrees east. There are numerous free channels available, many German amongst them. If you want pay channels, you need a digibox that has the right coding system built in, or a CAM slot, plus a slot for a pay-card. If not, a FTA receiver(free-to-air) will suffice. Web links below. On the first link, free digital channels are in light blue. You can buy and install yourself, as the one from Maplins, of get a specialist installer to do it for you. I have had this satellite for about 6 years. Feel free to email me for further info.......

You need another box and dish. You can get the whole kit here in France for about €100. You need a digital box, NOT one that says digital ready. There is a ginormous con going on over here at the moment flogging analogue boxes to the unsuspecting. They are good value though, I buy the kit, throw away the brandnew box just for the dish and LNB. They are amongst others on sale at Leroy Merlin at Sndgat which is just up the road from Citie d' Europe,(Calais) so you can buy your fags in Belgium, your Booze and satellite box in France all for a boat crossing from P and O for a £5.
