Random free HD cable in the 100+ channels?

Having trouble viewing Standard Def channels using HDMI cable hookup on my Samsung 40" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD

  • I've got this expensive HDMI cable and it won't let me see my standard def channels. The HD channels look great. Standard Def and HD channels come through using the DVI connection, but the volume is muted slightly. Even at 100% volume, it's not loud enough. Would like to use the HDMI cable, but need to understand how to get standard def channels as well as HD. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

How do you expect a helpful answer if you don't tell us what your TV is coming from, and how you're hooked-up? Update Why do you mention DVI? You say you're using HDMI. Do you have Component cables that you can try as an experiment? email me at jjki_11738
