How to connect MacBook to RCA tv?

I have a MacBook (2010) and a tv with RCA input/output. I have a Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter and a DVI-I to 3 RCA Component Cable. When I connect the cables to the computer and tv, it does not work. Do I need different cables?
