Which is better directv or dishnetwork?

Dishnetwork/DirecTV adding rooms to plan?

  • I have DishNetwork, but I imagine they both work the same way. Anyway, I currently have a TV in my room, but I'm moving upstairs and want to add a line there, as well as my basement. I have a dual tuner, and I'm wondering if there's a way to use the 4-way splitter they originally hooked up, without them knowing I'm doing it. Is that possible? Ideally I'd like to have 4 rooms hooked up, but even if I had to lose one, that would be fine. Thanks in advance for any advice.

  • Answer:

You will need a receiver for each set. Otherwise, all the sets will be tuned to the same channel. If that's what you want, just hook the "out to TV" connector to a 4 way splitter and run a cable to each set. If the picture gets snowy, you'll have to use an amplifier to boost the output. They don't really care what you do as long as you pay them for the service. There's no way they can tell how many directions the output of the box goes.
