How long do LCD HD TVs last?

Need help from an expert, hd tvs LCD?

  • I recently purchased a philips 40" 240hz 1080i 5505 5000 series and let me start off by saying I bought this same tv around black friday for the same price of 519 (it was 800) an i absolutly loved it. But my *** of a friend spilled water all over it so I had to return it. I went threw a couple tvs that I didn't like until this set was back on walmart.com and I reorderd it. For some reason there is bleeding on the corners of my tv known as the edge lit LED effect BUT my tvs only an lcd? This makes it quite annoying obviously, also it makes things really dark even when im playing video games or watching a bright program. On my last set all I had to do was turn active control lighting off an it was fine but even that doesnt help on this set. Is there anything I can do besides return it an get a refurb 3-5 weeks from now? I really hope this is repairable or theres something I can do at home. Someone with good tv experts would be much appreciated. Also idk if that light problem is causing this but my tv doesnt seem as clear as the first set. Its not my hdmi cord/hd cablebox but it seems pixilated/spots jumping around/little fuzzies whatever you wanna call them. Usually on peoples faces and on the back ground of the picture idk whats causing that

    Phillips has a year warranty why not have them replace the LCD panel under warranty?

There is nothing you can do but replace it. It's a shame you can't seem to get a good replacement for your original. You were lucky that the store took back the one your friend decided to water. I hope you are able to get a replacement that gives you good service. Right now it looks like they are giving you rejects.
