What if LCD has sound but no picture?

LG 47 inch LCD TV sound ok, but no picture!!! what might be the problem?

  • My parents who live in another countryt (Greece) are facing this problem with their 5 years old tv. I'm trying to help them from where I am, but the problem seems to persist. After about 6 months of being switched off, it worked the first 12 hours, but after switching it off again and then ON, it would not have a picture though the sound is ok. MENU viewing is NOT possible either!!! What might be the problem? Anyone can help. please? Thanks a lot....

    A good start is by posting the model number. Could be the power supply, digital main or panel.
