I saw LG's OLED TV at CES 2012. What are the advantages of this television set?

It will fix pretty much all the issues that all the LCD TVs currently have (including LCD TVs that use LEDs for backlights) no more light uniformity issues, no more color shifts when viewed off angle, no more lag time which should fix the massive loss of resolution that all LCD/LED suffer from when there's motion, so no need for band-aids like 120hz and 240hz and that ugly video look it gives. The color gamut should also be wider, but the best part of OLED is that ability of those screen to deliver true, deep blacks, like the TV is off black while other parts of the screen are bright white. It's something that only the very best plasma TVs could get close to doing. Being crazy thin looks cool but honestly, it's just hype, it has no effect on image quality. The cost of the first generation of these TVs is going to be high, so I'm not sure why people are getting so excited. In two or three years, when the prices are much lower, then consumers should be excited. bottom line, these TVs are not for the masses that can't see the differences.
