How do I record satellite?

How do I record with satellite?

  • I have DirecTV. How do set up inputs and outputs between the TV, VCR and satellite receiver to record a tv show?

  • Answer:

You have the cable from the wall lead in to the Directv reciever, you have the cable from the Directv "output" lead to the VCR "input", and finally you have the cable from the VCR "output" lead to the TV "input". This will decipher the satellite signal into a audio/video signal via the reciever, and then send the signal through the VCR (so that the tape can record it) and to your television (so that you can view it). Wall-->reciever-->VCR-->TV
