How can i hook my computer up to my HDTV?

  • my tv doesn't have a vga plug but it does have 3 normal hdmi plugs but my computer doesn't have a hdmi plug in. what do i need to be able to hook it up??

    Wow, 4 answers and none of them bothered to actually read that your TV doesn't HAVE a VGA port and your computer doesn't have HDMI. Isn't that sad? Anyhow, search amazon.com or check a local electronics store for a VGA to HDMI converter cable. They make them and that will definitely be the easiest option to make your set-up work. But note that the video quality through a VGA out isn't as nice as HDMI, so if you can upgrade your video card to one with HDMI out it will make the picture look better.

If your laptop doesn't have an hdmi port, connect it through the VGA port using a standard computer monitor cable

I have a Olevia Silver 32" 16:9 8ms HD LCD TV Model 332H. It is great if you use the DVI input, choose a native resolution for your display. Mine runs best quality at 1280 X 720. If you have a decent Video card you will have lots of choices. Just keep trying resolutions until you get the best picture possible. Then tweak the colors and hue, and wow, it is really sharp and fast.

Get the HDMI cable and hook it up on both your laptop and your HD tv. when done that, on your keyboard press the "fn" and "f4" buttons. and there you go you got your laptop connected to your hd tv using hmdi cables. :)

if your computer has dvi then you can get a dvi to hdmi cable orthewise you need vga to hdmi

Hi Bro, U would need a video card, one which has a HDMI port or a DVI port. OR if ur computer is a laptop, then go for a Docking station which has a HDMI port. Hope the above helps! Cheers :)
