How do I make a RCA to VGA cable?

Any way to connect VGA or HDMI to my old tv with RCA?

  • I know this question has been asked a ton, but I just want to clarify things. Hear are the details: I have an HP Pavilian dv5-1235dx Entertainment Notebook PC, it has an HDMI and a VGA hookup. I just inherited a rather old TV with built in DVD and VCR, it has the red, white, yellow cable hookup (RCA I believe it's called?) as well as a spot for a headphone hookup. Is there in any way, shape or form a way to connect these two together? Preferably without buying the rather expensive $100+ converters I've seen posted in other answers. To be clear, this tv does not have an S-Video hookup, though if it did, would that make a difference? Thanks for any help, sorry to add to the tech-impaired questions...usually I'm good at plotting ways to connect stuff, this just has me stumped.

  • Answer:

Your TV is a SD TV and displaying windows on such a TV will look horrible. So, it is not possible and it is not worth it.
