Do you have to connect aerial to built in freeview tv?

Just purchased a JVC hdi Tv and cant connect my outside RTE Aerial?

  • I have connected TV, built in freeview is working perfectly. I have an RTE aerial on my roof the connection comes through the wall and its then connected to a booster box, the lead of the booster box is then connected into the back of then tv using the aerial socket. I cant seem 2 get any annalog tv stations a "No signal" warning appears when i choose to switch to annalog. It driving me insane, hopefully some1 from northern ireland or thereabouts will help me. I dont have any other boxes ie. sky or ntl so cannot connect aerial through them.

  • Answer:

it may be a similar problem as when channel 5 had to send people to homes to re tune videos and TVs , i think that your new TV might start its search for the analogue signals at a frequency higher than your Ariel is receiving , on older videos for example there was a tiny adjust screw on the back to increase /decrease the range of channels that it searched for , as your TV is new it may be best to find the teck spec and then ask an Ariel guy for relevant booster.
