How to connect dish hd receiver?

How can i connect both of my HD tvs to my dish network dual hd dvr?

  • I recently got dish network and got the dual dvr hd receiver (you can only connect one HD tv but use dvr to both tvs) i have 1st hdtv conected to hdmi cable and the second hdtv connected with a coaxial cable (wich makes my tv look less than good) they offered me to get a second HD receiver but i have to pay 5 dlls per month extra plus i cant use the dvr on both tvs which is a break dealer for me. is there any way that i can have a coaxial cable converter to HD? i mean i was thinking since the HD reciever the main sourse comes from a coaxial cable to have an independent converter that makes work the HD

  • Answer:

The TV2 Coaxial outputs on the receiver are SD only, and there is no converter you can buy to make the TV HD off that coax cable. However, you can run an HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV2, and connect TV1 with component cables to get HD on both TVs. If you do this, both TVs will always show the same picture. If you need both TVs in HD, and also need to be able to control them separately, you will need another receiver which start at $7 a month. I would get another HDMI cable and if you are still having trouble contact Dish network for help.
