How to record from cable to VCR?

How to record cable with a vcr without a cable box?

  • I have cable but no cable box so i have to hook up the cable directly to the tv, how do i make it so that i can record cable channels with my vcr?

  • Answer:

you may also connect rca (red, white & yellow) directly to the tv...on the vcr back panel, the cables should be on the INPUT and the other end should be on the tv's OUTPUT..doing so would send signal from the tv directly to your recorder...for you to watch what you've recorded,..you would need to use another rca...this time connection would be..OUTPUT from the VCR then INPUT on the tv back panel...

Other answers

Hook your cable into the VCR's "IN FROM ANT" connection first then "OUT TO TV" & run that connection to your tv. Put your tv on channel 3 or 4 (which ever one you would watch a movie on) & then change the VCR channels using the VCR remote. (The TV will always stay on ch 3 or 4). Make sure your VCR is set up for CATV so you can receive all the channels above ch 13.
